Expressive Arts
Expressive arts includes multiple creative modalities; these include art, written, movement, music, and dance. By incorporating a variety of creative aspects into a therapy session, it allows one to experience the process of the situation/ event/ emotion in a different, potentially new, format. This may allow one to experience a deeper understanding and to assist with coping in a positive manner. The client and psychologist are able to engage and explore the expressive arts creation with non judgmental and curious perspectives. Ultimately, this allows one to have space to heal, explore, and create personal change.
